Lenalid 10 — Lenalidomide 10 mg
Lenalid 10 mg is an oral immunomodulatory drug containing Lenalidomide (10 mg).
Manufacturer: Natco Pharma (India). A high-quality generic equivalent of Revlimid.
Mechanism of Action:
Lenalid works by inhibiting the growth of myeloma cells, inducing cell death (apoptosis), and preventing the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) that feed tumors. It also boosts the patient's immune system to attack cancer cells.

Indicated for the treatment of:
- Multiple Myeloma (MM): In combination with dexamethasone.
- Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS): Specifically for transfusion-dependent anemia due to low- or intermediate-1-risk MDS associated with a deletion 5q cytogenetic abnormality.
- Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL): Relapsed or refractory cases.
Strength: 10 mg capsule.
Typical Cycle (28 Days):
- 📅 Take once daily for 21 days.
- 📅 Followed by a 7-day break.
⚠️ ADMINISTRATION WARNINGS:
- 💊 Swallow capsules whole with water. DO NOT BREAK, OPEN, OR CHEW. The powder is teratogenic and toxic if inhaled or touched.
- Take at roughly the same time each day, with or without food.
🚫 ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATION: PREGNANCY (Category X).
Lenalidomide is structurally related to Thalidomide and causes severe life-threatening birth defects. Females of reproductive potential must use two forms of contraception.
Other Contraindications:
- Severe renal impairment (requires dose adjustment).
- Hypersensitivity to lenalidomide.
Significant risks include:
- Venous Thromboembolism (Blood Clots): Increased risk of DVT and PE. Prophylactic antithrombotic therapy (Aspirin or anticoagulants) is mandatory during treatment.
- Hematologic: Neutropenia (low white cells) and Thrombocytopenia (low platelets).
- Skin: Rash, itching.
