Sotoxen 320 β Sotorasib 320 mg Tablets
Sotoxen 320 mg (Sotorasib) is a breakthrough targeted therapy and a generic equivalent to Lumakras. It is a first-in-class inhibitor of the KRAS G12C protein, a target that was previously considered "undruggable" in oncology.
Manufacturer: Everest Pharmaceuticals (Bangladesh). The drug is designed to treat non-small cell lung cancer by permanently locking the mutated protein in an inactive state.
Key Features:
- β Mechanism of Action: Specifically targets the KRAS G12C mutation, shutting down the signaling pathway that drives cancer cell growth.
- β High Selectivity: Binds only to the mutated protein without affecting the normal (wild-type) KRAS protein, minimizing damage to healthy cells.
- β Clinical Efficacy: Demonstrates rapid and durable tumor shrinkage in patients who have progressed on prior therapies.
Prescribed by oncologists only after the KRAS G12C mutation is confirmed via testing:
- πΉ Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC): Locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC in adult patients.
- πΉ Indicated for patients who have received at least one prior systemic therapy (chemotherapy or immunotherapy).
Sales Unit: Bottle with 320 mg tablets.
β οΈ DOSING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Recommended Dose: 960 mg once daily. This equals taking 3 tablets of 320 mg at the same time.
- Administration: Swallow tablets whole with water. Can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
- β Important: Do not chew, crush, or split the tablets.
- Missed Dose: If less than 6 hours have passed, take the dose. If more than 6 hours, skip the dose and resume the next day. Do not take 2 doses at once.
- β Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD): Or history of pneumonitis (drug can cause severe lung inflammation).
- Severe hepatic impairment (liver damage).
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Children (under 18 years of age).
- Hypersensitivity to Sotorasib.
Regular monitoring of liver function tests (ALT, AST) is mandatory. Potential side effects:
- π©Έ Hepatotoxicity: Elevated liver enzymes (common).
- π Gastrointestinal: Diarrhea (very common), nausea, vomiting.
- 𦴠Musculoskeletal: Muscle or bone pain.
- β οΈ Respiratory: Cough or shortness of breath (report new symptoms immediately due to risk of pneumonitis).
